Sandown is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. It was once part of Kingston, and was incorporated in 1756. It was named after Sandown on the Isle of Wright. Sandown is home to the historic Sandown Meeting House, which was constructed in 1774. It is noted for its outstanding craftsmanship and New England church architecture. This distinctive New England house is located 1/3 mile from Main Street, and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
