Deering Real Estate

Deering, New Hampshire is located in Hillsborough County.  It is 23 miles from Manchester, and 76 miles from Boston.  Deering was incorporated in 1774 and was named after colonial governor John Wentworth’s wife, Frances Deering Wentworth.

Deering’s meeting house is the historic center of the town.  The meeting house was built in 1788 and for served as a church and civic center before becoming the Town Hall.
Deering is home to many small rivers and lakes which offer canoeing and fishing.  It is also home to Tom Rush Forest, which is the former estate of folk singer Tom Rush.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Deering’s population at the time was 1,875 people.  This included 713 households and 518 families.  The average family size was 2.95 and the average household size was 2.52.
